Soul searching, immersing yourself in other cultures, creating memories, leaving your comfortzone, sampling new cuisines, learning to be on your own, staying within budget, you name it. My solo adventure: picture perfect views and crying in front of strangers

We took a nightbus to Huaraz with only one goal in mind: going on the 4 day Santa Cruz trek. Having read great stories about this hike in the Cordillera Blanca, we were really looking forward to being out in the mountains for four days. But no matter how well you prepare, sometimes things just don’t go as planned.

We have been busy with making sure that we can leave. And with busy, I mean that we are constantly arranging things. Planning ahead has never been my strong suit. Professionally, I am well organized, but in my natural habitat, home, I usually go with the flow.
